Easley Blackwood: Twelve Microtonal Etudes For Electronic Music Media

Pictured is the original artwork for the private release of Easley Blackwood's album Twelve Microtonal Etudes for Electronic Music Media. Using a polyfusion synth, Blackwood composes and performs an etude for each equal temperament; 13 through 24 divisions of the octave.

On this CD remaster there are an additional 4 tracks; Suite for Guitar in 15-note Equal Tuning performed by Jeffrey Kust.

The first track on the album is not part of the 12 etudes; it is titled Fanfare in 19-note Equal Tuning. This album is a must have for anyone exploring microtonality and alternate divisions of the octave.

  1. Great great stuff!

Hadn't heard of Easley Blackwood, but this album is ridiculously nice. The others were geniuses of course.

    Keep up the great posting!
