Pictured is the original artwork for the private release of Easley Blackwood's album Twelve Microtonal Etudes for Electronic Music Media. Using a polyfusion synth, Blackwood composes and performs an etude for each equal temperament; 13 through 24 divisions of the octave. On this CD remaster there are an additional 4 tracks; Suite for Guitar in 15-note Equal Tuning performed by Jeffrey Kust.
The first track on the album is not part of the 12 etudes; it is titled Fanfare in 19-note Equal Tuning. This album is a must have for anyone exploring microtonality and alternate divisions of the octave.
